Call for Artists Interested in Teaching Art Clubs

Lincoln Community Learning CentersThe Community Learning Centers (CLC) of Lincoln are currently seeking artists who are interested in teaching after school art clubs at various sites across the Lincoln area. The Lincoln CLC currently serves the following schools: Goodrich, Everett, Belmont, Calvert, McPhee, Lefler, Pershing, Mickle, Elliott, Arnold, Dawes, Brownell, Norwood, West Lincoln, Holmes, Riley, Saratoga, Prescott, Huntington, Clinton, Hartley, Park, Culler, North Star, and Lakeview. The goal of the CLC is to serve children, families, and neighborhoods through collaborative partnerships that provide support services and opportunities that lead to improved student learning and developments, strong families and healthier neighborhoods.

The art clubs will start in January and run through April. Depending on the site, pay will be from $10 to$16 per hour and you will have the opportunity to teach 1-3 clubs per week with an average of 10 students per club. After-school club times vary between 1-2 hours. The artist will be in charge of writing lesson plans for their art clubs and have the goal of having students produce artwork to be displayed in the CLC end of year art show for the First Friday artwalk in May 2012 in the Old City Hall Building (920 O Street).

If you are interested in teaching art club for the Community Learning Centers, please contact Lois Curren at (402) 436-1966 or email her at lcurren@lps.org.

Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
