The 2010 Mayor's Arts Awards

Mayor's Arts Awards 2010 on the Lied StageThe Mayor’s Arts Awards is a gala event, a celebration of the arts, to formally honor contributions and achievements in the Lincoln community. Robert Hillestad, a Lincoln fiber artist whose work has been shown in more than 150 juried and invitational exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad, is the creator of the artworks that will be awarded to the 2010 recipients. Each piece was handcrafted with the recipient in mind. The Mayor’s Arts Awards Ceremony will recognize the 2010 Awards Recipients on June 7, 2010 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

2010 Award Recipients

Each year the community nominates candidates for the Mayor’s Arts Awards and a panel chooses the worthy recipients from those nominated.  It's a tough job!  We are pleased to present this year’s exceptional group of recipients.

Mayor’s Arts Award Sponsors

The Mayor’s Arts Awards is both a celebration of the arts and a fundraiser, making it possible for Lincoln Arts Council to provide the services and programs that benefit the entire Lincoln community. Help us to thank these sponsors for their generous support.

Thanks to our photographers, Toberlin Photography and Dick Hays for capturing this year’s ceremony.   Thanks to Diego Moreno and Luis Peon Casanova who graciously provided video of each recipient.  Their work certainly documents that the arts in Lincoln are something to celebrate.

Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
