Resources for Artists & Art Organizations

Lincoln Arts Council (LAC) supports the work of artists and arts organizations in many ways.

Visibility: Be seen on ArtScene!

ArtScene.org is the ultimate destination for all Lincoln's arts information! The public comes to us for arts news and events. You can promote your work and activities on the LAC website. Artists and organizations get the word out by uploading content, such as photos and announcements, and linking their own websites to ArtScene.org. Your first step is to create a profile so visitors to ArtScene.org can find you in our list of artists and arts organizations.

Funding: Looking for funds?

LAC knows that Lincoln thrives on fantastic arts ideas! Sometimes it is about getting the money to fund your work. We provide grant writing resources to help you.

And when funding is available, LAC provides dollars to support the programming of Lincoln's arts organizations. By early-July of each year we will post information about the availability of our LAC Project Grants program.

Resources: Check out our library!

We have a great library of resources, books and other media, thanks to generous funding by Woods Charitable Fund, Inc. If you have ideas for books that we should add to our library, we welcome your suggestions.

Networking: Arts roundtables & workshops!

LAC holds periodic roundtable meetings with the goal of strengthening what we all do and giving you an opportunity to share concerns and successes. Watch for announcements about upcoming roundtables and LAC sponsored workshops. We'll post them here and in our eNewsletter ArtScene Online. You can sign up now to get the newsletter.

Best Practices: Share documents!

We collect documents that have been helpful to our work at the LAC and to other arts organizations.  We are happy to share them with you! Maybe your organization is developing a strategic plan. Do you have an upcoming event you want to promote with a press release? We have articles to help you! We hope to make the sharing of best practices documents a collaborative effort and welcome any documents that you would like to share. Please send electronic copy to graham@artscene.org.

Arts Advocacy: Spreading our cause!

We all know that working together to strengthen the arts is an important job, best done as a team.  We work to keep current on arts issues and provide information to help you be strong advocates for the arts.

Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
